The Company Manager is the central hub for all of the upgrades in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. It balances a lot of things in the game relating to money. It makes damage to the load on trips significantly reduced, like 50% damaged load is only -$126 off. I'm in the process of enlarging my fleet (if you can call 3 trucks in total a fleet lol), and I have a question. Is it "better" to buy the cheapest trucks and then upgrade them to some extent/max or buy the trucks that meet certain requirements? For example, my first truck was the cheapest Renault. I bought a Volvo (second cheapest I think) and gave the Renault to my driver. Then I gues i've reached the maximum amount of hired drivers in the game. 275 hired drivers + myself is 276 drivers. Still i can buy garages and upgrade to 5, but everyday i get the same message that i have to wait for the next day to see if i can hire a driver. Nope 275 is the limit. It took 262 days for my first driver to reach rating 10. A couple more will do "shortly" (if I ferry around). My drivers started at 0.8 or only a little above. The only exception I recall is Oscar.
